Hello,

Upgrading failed going from 10.0.6 FOSS (built using the develop branch) to 10.0.7 FOSS (built using tags).
The upgrade failed due to unknown ldap attributes.

The 10.0.6 FOSS build used was created on Jan. 4th which at the time included 80 new attributes in the ldap schema.
The schema version was 1697082898.

The schema version used with both 10.0.6 and 10.0.7 is 1673397105.
As of the last commit, the develop branch of zm-mailbox/store/conf/attrs/zimbra-attrs.xml contains 87 new attributes compared to 10.0.6/7.


The steps used to resolve this are:

Before upgrading stop all zimbra services.

Dump ldap and ldap config using zmslapcat.

Edit ldap dump to remove all instances of development attributes.

Edit ldap dump, change attribute 'zimbraLDAPSchemaVersion' value to the 10.0.6/7 version '1673397105'.

Backup ldap db directories by renaming the 'config' and 'mdb' directories.

Create new 'config' and 'mdb/db' directories.

Restore ldap config with zmslapadd.

Start ldap.

Restore edited ldap dump with zmslapadd.

Stop ldap.

Edit /opt/zimbra/conf/zimbra-attrs-schema to reflect current 10.0.6/7 schema version (1673397105).

Upgrade as usual.


Attached is a list of all new attributes as of today found in the develop branch not found in 10.0.6/7.
This list can be used to edit the ldap dump.

So far the only other observation is that the phantom 'Chats' folder appeared again that has since been resolved in the develop branch.
