Installation and Upgrade • Zimbra 8.8.15: all mails are send outside when MTA relay is defined

Hello,

I want to use Zimbra (Release 8.8.15.GA.4179.UBUNTU20.64 UBUNTU20_64 FOSS edition, Patch 8.8.15_P45) for local mail delivery (inside my domain) and for outside delivery via the MTA SMTP relay.

When the relay is not defined or disabled, the local mails are correctly delivered by Zimbra, with no address re-writing.

But when the relay is defined (external SMTP relay), all mails are send outside (with address rewriting), even those that should be delivered locally.

The relay configuration is:
smtp_generic_maps=lmdb:/opt/zimbra/conf/my_address_mapping
relayhost=my_outside_relay:587
smtp_sasl_password_maps=hash:/opt/zimbra/conf/my_relay_password
smtp_sasl_auth_enable=yes
smtp_cname_overrides_servername=no
smtp_tls_security_level=may
smtp_sasl_security_options=noanonymous
smtp_sasl_mechanism_filter=plain,login

A similar configuration with Zimbra 6.0.7 is working fine.

Things have changed between 6.0.7 and 8.8.15. I tried many configurations, I analyzed mail.log file with forced verbose option, without success for the moment.
I can see that trivial-rewriting is called for address rewriting (local to external) when the relay is defined. But I can not see why...

I would appreciate if anyone give me a key to retrieve the behaviour of my old Zimbra .

Thanks a lot.
